Bogie is a very important component of railway rolling stock. Rubber elastic components, such as are widely used for flexible connection and anti-vibration in the bogie primary and secondary suspension, traction and motor sling.During the developing of Chinese freight bogie, rubber elastic components are adopted as key components for some application to improve the bogie performance. The superiority of rubber elastic components has been approved, especially as the promotion of load and speed, the rubber elastic components are used more and more widely in freight bogie.K7freight bogie is a sub-frame selfsteering radial bogie developed by CSR Meishan rolling stock Co.,Ltd (hereinafter to be referred as Meishan Company) on the base of imported South African Scheffel technology. This bogie displays good low power performance and reliability since it was put into mass use successively in DaQin-Line in2007.In order to perfecting the performance of K7bogie, Meishan Company incorporate the operational experiences of K7bogie and optimized research results in recent years, optimized the performance parameters of sub-frame axle-box rubber spring; add adapter elastic rubber pad between side frame and axle box for flexible location, change rigid pin joint between wheel radial device link rod and U sub-frame to flexible joint with non-wearing rubber elastic bushing.Meishan Company provide the information of part assembly position, function, assembly space, static stiffness and fatigue as the design inputs of three rubber elastic components. Based on these design inputs, TMT performed a series of theoretical calculations, and analyzed comparative performance of mass applied typical rubber elastic components. TMT propose a design scheme that had been trial produced and tested.After the trial production of part, TMT performed a series of type test for these three rubber elastic components of K7bogie, and the test results all meet the technology parameters of static stiffness, high and low temperature and fatigue requiements of Meishan Company. On May4th to6th2011, line dynamic tests were done on test train grouped with C70-flatcar equipped with K7, K5and K6bogies, and the test results show that the K7bogie equipped with three rubber elastic components developed this time and universal JC elastic side bearing has high straight-line stability. Comparing with other two kinds of bogies, the vibration performance of the train is basically at the same level, but it has obvious advantages on the curve negociation performance.Even so, comparing with the nominal value of stiffness, sub-frame rubber spring has the problem that multidirectional stiffness match is not perfect, so it’s to be confirmed if the static parameters should be improved to ideal status by onboard test. Although these three rubber elastic components have all pass the fatigue test, the reliability and service life is to be checked by onboard test.
