The complexity of new generation combat aircraft structure increases gradually,the requirements of aircraft health diagnosis and integrated health management are constantly increasing. Currently, the health diagnosis technology of combat aircraft is developing rapidly. However, there are some following drawbacks. The grasp of the crack growthing process of aircraft structure part lacks integrity. Most experiment and simulation data appears with matrix or tabular forms, the visibility is poor. With all these problems, the progress and reform of combat aircraft health diagnosis technology has been restricted partly. On account of above-mentioned technology bottlenecks, here, some exploratory study of visual simulation on combat aircraft health diagnosis has been developed. First of all, 3D models of combat aircraft and its horizontal tail were created by the use of Multigen Creator. Then, flying tasks and simulation tasks were analyzed, the visual simulation of vertical flying maneuvers, based on flying tasks, was designed. At last, by make use of Multigen Vega and VC++(MFC), a visual simulation system of combat aircraft horizontal tail health diagnosis based on fatigue crack growth models was developed. This paper introduces the needs analysis of system, module division, project design, experiment results and so on. In conclusion, three-dimensional visual simulation technology was used in aircraft health diagnosis field creatively. The system achieves flying visual simulation based on different tasks. In addition, horizontal tail fatigue crack growth models were loaded timely in the process of simulating, and experiment result can be given in visualization styles. This system can supply new ways on solving the problems, exist in the research of combat aircraft health diagnosis, and it has good practical value and prospect.
