The visual simulation as an important branch of modern computer simulation, is high reliably, portable, free of time and space, low cost and has many other advantages. It has been widely used in the ship engine room simulator's development. Multi-channel visual display means to display three-dimensional scenes of multiple channels on a large-screen, using multiple projectors. It is a3D projection display system in an immersive virtual simulation environment. It can provide a wide field of view, higher resolution, high quality three-dimensional image, and improve the fidelity of the system. As described in this article, this system drives multiple projection equipments using one simulation computer, solves many key problems on the multi-channel visual display technology.As the development of scientific and technological level, marine engine simulator demand more and more functions. This article redesigned the functions of multi-channel visual simulation system on marine engine room. Operator can roam in the scene for watching the arrangement of engine room, and operate the visual equipments for familiar the ship work. This thesis includes the following parts:1,Optimized OpenFlight format using in Creator. Put in order the hierarchy of model database according to the process of rendering., and reduce amounts of polygons by texture mapping for proving the real-time.2,Realized the simulation of visual equipments action by DOF technology, and the simulation of typical event in engine room by visual human technology.3,Used the vgPicker Class provided by Vega, combing the Vega-based3D visual panel and the two-dimensional visual panel by using Visual C++, completed the operation of visual panel.4,Installation hardware and represented making software of multi-channel visual display. This thesis used only one computer to drive multiple channels by professional graphics card and video transform tools, solved many problem of muti-channel visual simulation system.
