In the21st century,we have entered a "car era",the car has become a common means of transport.With the rapid growth of automobile production, the demand for tires also significantly increase.the industry of tires have entered a stage of rapid development.In the meantime,21st century is a "freeway era",more and more highway networks have been built between cities.With the increase of speed and distance.a higher quality of tires has been required.And now people have strong sense of security and demands for higher quality of life.so they have new requirements on the performance and quality of tire.Because radial tire is good handling and stability.high-speed performance, wear resistance,safety performance and comfort and good performance characteristics,so it has become a new direction for the development of tire industry.However,due to manufacturing problems.or other factors.there will be a lot of tire defects,directly or indirectly affect the quality of tires,which affects the user’s service.or even cause serious security problems.Therefore.we must attach importance to product quality testing tires.tires in order to detect defects and improve product quality tires.Currently.tire defect detection is mainly adopted X-ray detection method. However.the lack of domestic tire X-ray image processing and defect detection system identification,inspection or manual observation tire X-ray inspection images, susceptible tc interference,and workers in labor-intensive.the correct rate is not high.This paper focuses on tire defects in X-ray image recognition test.made a brief introduction to the history and current status of radial tire,radial tire performance characteristics.test methods.and the development of the status quo of radial tires X-ray inspection equipment at home and abroad;intensively study the radial X-ray inspection images tire,and tire defects in X-ray image detection and classification studies;analysis the tire X-ray inspection imaging characteristics of the image.and image smoothing and image using the image processing method of gamma correction.the image split.then split the image after thinning;for shape,scale.detail and arrangement of four kinds of tire defects.were designed corresponding tire defect recognition algorithm:Finally.use Visual C++6.0to develop tire X-ray image defect detection automatic recognition software.
