With the development of modern economy, advance in science and technology, and the acceleration of urbanization, rail transit is becoming the important means of transportation of people travel, and the rail transit network of major metropolis is getting more perfect. Because the scale of rail transit network constantly expanding and the structure is increasingly complex, the trip modes are more diverse. Without suitable guidance system guiding travelers’path selection, it will result in too much passenger flow gathering in the shortest time or distance path between OD (origin-destination), and the problem of congestion will appear. So, both the characteristics of rail transit and the related theory of road traffic guidance are taken into consideration.Based on these considerations, this paper focuses on the research of the related algorithms and models of the rail transit passenger flow guidance. And rail transit passenger flow guidance system is carrying out development.Firstly, research of optimal path selection model in rail transit travel and a reasonable comprehensive travel impedance function considering the congestion effects are discussed. Improvement for the storage structure of the Dijkstra algorithm with PriorityQueue is given, in order to reduce the time complexity of the algorithm. And the improved Dijkstra algorithm is used in the research of the optimal path search in rail transit travel.Then, research of rail transit passenger flow assignment model is given. Logit model of non- equilibrium assignment in traffic assignment theory is used in rail transit passenger flow assignment in this paper. On the basis of the selected probability of each effective path, OD passenger flow is reasonably allocated to each section, and the effective rail transit section passenger flow is obtained.Finally, on the basis of requirements analysis and system design, popular J2EE development framework having the characteristics of high cohesion, low coupling and easy to maintain is combined with Flex technology, to implement urban rail transit passenger flow guidance system. The guidance system in B/S mode can represent the passenger flow information of rail transit network in the stations and sections using the graphical user interface. It also provides the optimal path to choose for travelers according to their needs, and effectively achieves the dynamic guidance of passenger flow. Urban rail transit passenger flow guidance system provides travelers with the optimal path, which improves not only the efficiency of the travel but also the utilization rate of rail transit. The real-time passenger flow information contributes to passenger flow monitoring and operations management. In the era of rail transit network expanding and the growing popularity of computer network, urban rail transit passenger flow guidance system has broad application prospect.
