As the local government pays more attention to the construction of urban rail transit, a large scale light rail network has been gradually formed in each city, and the urban rail transit has gradually entered the era of network operation, i.e., wire mesh are becoming increasingly complex, connectivity between the origin-destination becomes more and more excellent, and there are more available paths for passengers to choose. But for the departments of operation and management, the problem is that there is no method to track the specific travel path of passengers, which will bring some difficulties to the analysis of the passenger flow and dispatching decision. So effectively and reasonably calculating the contribution rate of passenger paths, obtaining the passenger flow volume of each route, calculating cross-section passenger flows (regarded as the index of passenger transport), analyzing and evaluating the operation of different lines have great significance to guide the departments of operation and management to rationally allocate transport capacity and improve the railway operation organization as well as optimize the rail traffic ticket income distribution system. To solve the passenger flow assignment problems in urban rail transit network, the paper mainly carries out the following research works:(1) We first describe the urban rail transit network and then take the passenger travel in Beijing city as an example and discuss the rule of imbalanced temporal and spatial distribution of passenger flow on city rail transit network. Finally, the influence factors of passenger route choice are described from three aspects, namely, personal property, passenger travel characteristics and rail transit operation status.(2) On the basis of the definition of effective path of urban rail transit, two rules are introduced to determine the effective path of the urban rail transit. Three kinds of effective path search algorithms are described, and their advantages and disadvantages are compared. The breadth first search algorithm is used to search for a valid path in this paper. Furthermore, based on the Beijing subway route information, the algorithm is achieved by using the C* programming language and the search efficiency proves higher. Passengers are classified according to their different characteristics in path selection, and the comprehensive impedance functions of the two types of passengers are constructed, which are familiar with the transit paths and not familiar with the transit paths. Finally, the improved Logit model is used to calculate the proportion of the passenger flow distribution in different paths of the same OD, and we get the passenger flow volume of each path. The cross-section passenger flow of each path is calculated by superposition method, and the calculation results are tested by the section flow method.(3) Taking Beijing rail transit network as an example, OD passenger flows on the local urban rail network of central region in the morning rush hour is sorted. The distribution of the early peak passenger flow is simulated. In addition, the proportion of passenger flow distribution and the passenger flow volume of all effective routes are calculated. The theoretical value of the cross-section passenger flow on each link is obtained. The calculation results are respectively analyzed and compared from two aspects, i.e., the OD path contribution rate and the structure of the cross-section passenger flow. It is proved that passenger flow distribution method in this article is feasible and effective.
