The Application Research Of Hub-and-spoke Network Structure In Contaiiler Liner Shipping

The international trade has become a core portion of national economic in the rapid development situation of global economic integration. As a main way and an important element of world trade international shipping has an irreplaceable social, economic and political significance. As the main form of global shipping container liner transport plays an important role in the whole transportation system.At present, the hub-and-spoke network structure is widely used in liner shipping route, and it promotes the the separation of hub port and branch port in the function and status and makes the container shipping network internal contact closely, and the cluster effect and economic benefits are more remarkable. Therefore, study of the application of hub-and-spoke network structure in container liner transportation is conducive to the significance analysis of hub-and-spoke network on container shipping development, construction and operation etc.This paper first introduced the theory of complex network, the network economy and hub-and-spoke network.And then introduced the container liner transport network development and actuality, and obtains the HSS network is widely used in network structure of container shipping. Then this paper analyses the application effect from the two aspects of microcosmic and macroscopic of hub-and-spoke network structure in container liner shipping. On this basis, take the Far East-North America routes container shipping network as the the research object, using the economic model and improved BA model, taking an empirical analysis and obtains that in the container transport the HSS network structure reduces transportation costs, improves transport efficiency. This article aims to make further study of the advantages of HSS network structure in container transport, analyzes its internal mechanism by Integrated multidisciplinary theory which not only has the important theory significance of exploration, but also has important practical significance of the container transport operators and the decision makers.
