Yacht industry is called as,"Great business opportunities-floating on the golden-water way", which is a long chain industry with high dense labors, technology, knowledge, and capital, also do great stimulative function to develop economy.Data from ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) indicate that the coefficient which is brought by Yacht Industry is up to1:9. At present yearly expenditure spending on yachts in the world is up to$40billion. Plus relative expense on service, management, entertainment, etc., global yearly income from yacht economy is much more than$50billion. Yacht tourism brings much energy to the traditional tourism, and it will definitely further promote the development of the whole yacht industry and tourism industry.To design yacht piers rationally is the foundation of developing yacht industry stably. It plays an important role in both macro-decision and micro-management. To determine scale of water area for yacht pier is the foundation of designing yacht pier, and it plays an really important role in promoting and ensuring the development of yacht industry. But currently, relative standard, which is used to determine the scale of water area for yacht pier has not been formed and unified, so it brings lots of negative effect to the safety of yacht industry. To study scale of water area for yacht pier plays a very important, practical and significant role in designing yacht pier and promoting development of yacht industry steadily.Firstly, this theory analyzed, compared and concluded kinds of specific scales of yacht pier designing in the United States, Japan and Australia. Additionally, it collected relative original data of water area and yacht scales by using global software-Google Earth, from established corresponding yacht piers in the United States, Japan, and Australia. Then, it analyzed factors and eliminated errors from collected original data to determine comparative samples of yacht types and scale of water area. And then do the sample regression analysis to get the corresponding regression equation. On this basis, by contrasting and analyzing these scales of yacht piers, this theory analyzed related factors which affect designing scale of water area and differences of designing yacht dock scale. It provides a basic theory for yacht dock departments to make decision on designing yacht docks, and also gives good reference for assessing safe environment for yacht dock navigation. More than that, it brings enormous contribution to design scientific and reasonable scale of yacht dock waters area.
