The mold is a MTO product that is assembled by several key components and is typical of small quantities of resource-oriented. In the actual production process, the key components are assembled to be a mold product in the assembly workshop, which has played a decisive role in the mold production cycle. These characteristics of mold result in some actual production problems. If the key components have already accomplished long before the due date of order, the key components will not only increase the shop stock, but may take the workshop resources, resulting in other emergency key components can’t finish in time, and even cause the order tardiness.For such problem, domestic and foreign scholars have studied the measurement of workload, the capacity delimitation of the task pool and workload balancing. And then we can obtain the following several conclusions:First, the workload metric base on bottleneck resource is the best way to estimate the workload of order; Second, the delimitation of the task pool size is conducive to workload balancing; Third, workload balancing among work centers helps to take full advantage of the resources of the workshop. In summary, scholars have studied the single shop workload balancing. However, the different key components are produced in different workshops, and if only consider workload balancing problem of a single shop, processing resource allocation of different key components can’t be co-ordination. Based on this, this paper presents a control strategy on mould order release in view of synchronization of multi-workshop.In order to make the manufacturing process of key components coordinating and improving manufacturing management, this paper studies the strategy of mold order release control of workload control about large mold enterprise. The strategy of order release control is to control the mold parts to enter workshops, making the mold companies production workshops’workload equalization to under the premise of meeting orders’due date. That is, it makes sure not only the workload of a workshop is being fully utilized, but also coordination progress of parts of an order in the processing of the different workshops. To achieve Mold order release control, there are three main factors should be determined:orders comprehensive workload, workload limits of task pool and the strategy of order release control. To address this issue, the author sets three chapters to study these three factors to determine the problem. And the last chapter studies the company using the production planning and control system, which demonstrates the feasibility and practicality of the proposed strategy of order release control used in large-scale mold manufacturer.
