Design and Simulation Analysis of Sweeper’s Plate Brush SystemSweepers are a series of vehicles specifically designed for urban road cleaningoperations. Compared to traditional manual cleaning, vehicle cleaning has manyadvantages such as efficient, convenient, low cost. In recent years, with the rapiddevelopment of the national highway grade and the gradually increase of urbanization,the quality of life, especially the needs for suitable living environment of citizen hasalso gradually increased. Thus, the rapid progress of science and technology has madetraditionally single artificial conservation road jobs cannot meet these requirements,and it is more responsive that modernized, mechanized and digital road maintenanceoperations take into action suitable for the development of our society.Sweepers, as the chief means of road sweeping maintenance operations, havebeen gradually and widely applied to city sanitation work. At present, road sweepingvehicles on market are divided into five types as pure sweeping sweepers, cleaningand sweeping sweepers, pure suction sweepers, blowing and suction sweepers andsuction sweeping sweepers, adapting to various road and environmental workingconditions. Considering to the climate environment of north, especially northeast partof China,our research group have designed a kind of dry sweeper mainly used forcombinational operations of suctioning and sweeping, in dry degusting and anhydrousmanners, in central layout with two dish brushes and blowback nozzles suitable forvast range variation of environmental temperature and all-weather operations.First, on theoretical approach to sweeper’s plate brush cleaning process andanalysis of its functional mechanism, its working style and status is defined fortouchdown operation; by combinational comparison of disk speed, sweeping speed,touch-ground pressure and road environment affecting the cleaning performance, it isdetermined the relationship among them under various conditions; and as it cannot beignored that disk brushes wear and tear during road sweeping operations,comprehensive analysis was made for some relevant factors, and the empiricalformula of disk brush life is given for reference of cleaning system design based on practical experience and theoretical analysis. Next, through theoretical analysis ofdetail structures and functions referencing to relevant parameters of the desiredvehicle, designing deduction of kinematics and kinetic parameters on the plate brushsystem was carried out; and modeling and assembly of the plate brush system usingthree-dimensional software Solidworks was done on design parameters, in which it isbasic for subsequent simulation analysis.The virtual prototype of the sweeper plate brush system and the control modelwas set up by “Professional†and “Colink†modules in the simulation softwareRecurDyn. Through kinematics simulation of lifting and descending process andcleaning operations process of the plate brush system, data validations were verifiedof the design parameter of the system; variations of speed factors during cleaningperformance on simulation analysis were described in detail, and reasonable speedfitting relations was got; by dynamics simulation analysis of the plate brush system inlifting and descending, adapting to obstacles and wear-down process, it is confirmedthat the major parts and the mechanical properties of the system were defined, inwhich the rationality and feasibility of the design system was verified. |
