Research On Fast Highway Passenger Traffic System In Shandong Province Based On Network Of Expressway

With the development of economy, the expressway construction in Shandong provincehas been developed rapidly, thus the highway mileage is of4350kilometers by the end of2011. High speed network in all directions has been basically formed. The rapiddevelopment of the expressway has provided the opportunity and platform to highwaypassenger traffic. However highway passenger traffic is a burgeoning industry, so there arelots of promblems in the development which can not be ignored, and some of them arehighlighted particularly, such as transport, macroscopical adjusting control, vehicleconfiguration, infrastructure construction, operation management ect. Therefore, it isnecessary to build and analyse the fast passenger traffic system of highway.The development of highway passenger traffic in Shandong province is obviouslyantecedent and representative to other domestic areas. Especially, as an importantcomponent of national economy, the highway passenger traffic provides the high speed,safe, comfortable and convenient travel services in the condition of the raising of people’sliving standard and the growing of travel demand. The research of fast passenger trafficsystem has the important guiding significance to the market management entities (business),and to the government macroeconomic regulation and control as well.Taking into account the field survey and successful foreign experience, a combinationof qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation, as well as general investigation and caseanalysis is applied in this paper to discuss the problems during the development of fasthighway passenger traffic,the purpose to which is to achieve scientificity and practicality inthe research simultaneously.In this paper system engineering is applied to discuss the expressway passenger trafficin Shandong province. Having investigated the situation extensively, analysed the currentproblems and influencing factors, the necessity and urgency are put forward to establish theexpressway passenger traffic system. On the basis above, the analysis of market demand trend as well as qualitative and quantitative forecasting are completed using the indexforecasting, two polynomial forecasting and grey forecasting method for the expresswaypassenger traffic in Shandong. Meanwhile the development condition，as SWOT areanalysed for the development of fast passenger traffic system.Then, through the research for the location layout and infrastructure configuration ofpassenger traffic station, as well as network optimization and capacity configuration of fastpassenger traffic, the strategy and method are provided to construct the fast highwaypassenger traffic system in Shandong. In the end of the article, the development suggestionis put forward to the organization of production management and operation mechanism,service management and security measurements for fast highway passenger traffic.The research of this article plays an important role to standardize the market ofhighway passenger traffic management, and promote the development of highway passengertraffic industry. It also provides a scientific basis for the operation and management of thetransport sector and the transport enterprises, and a new thought to improve the highwaypassenger traffic system.
