The urban highway passenger station is an important traffic node of urban external transportation, and it's traffic distribution degree is also very high. The superposition of urban passenger traffic and urban internal traffic loads the surrounding areas of urban highway passenger station to be the most traffic chaos and congestion region in the cities. Many cities relocate their highway passenger stations to periphery region for purpose of reducing the passenger traffic interference in urban internal traffic and relieving the urban traffic pressure. However, the spatial distribution transferring of urban highway passenger station will cause the changes and redistribution of urban traffic volume. The positive and negative influence on urban transportation hasn't been evaluated. Base on those above, the paper research on the theory and the method of the urban traffic impact analysis of the highway passenger station's spatial distribution.Through summarizing and analyzing the domestic and abroad research about the urban highway passenger station, the urban highway passenger station has been defined. The urban highway passenger station has been divided into three kinds based on the relationship between passenger stations and the operation mode of the passenger stations, including the monopoly passenger station with single allocation model, the imperfect competition passenger station with single allocation model and multiple allocation model and the perfect competition passenger station with multiple allocation model. Then, the functions and the feathers of the urban highway passenger station, such as the basic attribute, system characteristics, characteristics of traffic demand and passenger flow, have been studied. The paper studied the traffic demand forecast of the highway passenger transportation based on the analysis to the theory of the traffic demand forecast and the basic layout pattern of urban highway passenger station, focused on forecasting models building of traffic production and traffic distribution on the base of the spatial distribution and operation mode. The traffic production forecasting model building gave a comprehensive consideration of urban population, land use intensity and traffic location. The competing opportunities model which reflected the passenger trips characteristic has been chosen as theoretical foundation in the model building of passenger traffic production forecasting. The traffic production forecasting model was obtained by improving the competing opportunities model with a comprehensive consideration of the relationship between passenger stations, the operation mode of the passenger stations and the service frequency of the commercial vehicles. The implementing steps of model application have also been studied. In the paper, the traffic impact evaluation system has been constructed, mainly including putting forward the evaluation objective and the evaluation principle, drafting the evaluation indexes, defining the Indexes and researching on the method of indexes quantification. The Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process has been selected according to the comparative analysis of comprehensive evaluation methods to evaluate the Influence of urban traffic due to the spatial distribution and operation mode of urban highway passenger stations. The concrete implementing steps and the quantization method of evaluation results have also been studied.
