The Study On The Implicit Factors Of The Chinese Traditional Culture In Interior Design

More and more attention has been paying to the traditional Chinese symbolsin the current design field. Design, in addition to its use function to people, isalso closely related with cultural factors such as philosophy thoughts, aestheticviews, aesthetic orientations and folk customs of the corresponding period. To acertain extent, the cultural connotation "reflected" from the design of a designermay play a good role in culture communication. And so does interior designwhich boasts not only use functions but also culture implication, thus it has dualnatures in function and thought, namely, interior environment should not onlyhave its use functions but also remain responsible for culture transmission.As for the study and practice of the theory on the combination oftraditional Chinese culture with interior design, people mainly paid attention tothe traditional inheritance of the exterior of traditional building elements in thepast, however, the implicit factors of traditional Chinese culture such as theconnotation, philosophy thoughts and aesthetic views have more essential anddeeper influence on the artistic design of interior environment, and study on suchaspect has not been given much attention till now.In addition to the study on the explicit symbols of traditional Chinesearchitectures from the angle of semiology, my study this time mainly focuses onthe implicit factors of traditional Chinese culture from the angle of artisticphilosophy. As for the study on the explicit symbols of the ornament oftraditional Chinese architectures, it is carried out from the development ofsemiology to analyze the relation between semiology and structuralism. Study isalso made to the interior elements of traditional Chinese architectures from theview of such an "expressive" semiology and structuralism to analyze the processof "implication" of such interior elements. Besides, analysis and study are madeto the factors how traditional Chinese interior characteristics are formed from the angle of traditional Chinese culture, and then a semantic system of moderndesign symbols is set up by using of western semiotics theory and traditionalChinese cultural views so as to combine traditional Chinese symbols withmodern design concepts effectively. Through the studies, this thesis intends toconclude the methods for transmitting traditional culture in modern Chineseinterior design, which include accumulation and inheritance of traditional culture,change and displacement of traditional symbols, integration and deconstructionof traditional elements, innovation and disintegration of traditional forms as wellas creation of traditional scenes.This study defines the importance of traditional Chinese symbols in thecurrent design field, summarizes the methods how to extract the essence oftraditional Chinese symbols and integrate them into modern artistic interiordesign, and concludes traditional Chinese symbols and their correspondingtheories. Therefore, the study has specific guiding significance for promotingtraditional Chinese culture and better inheriting traditional historic culture in theartistic design of interior environment.
