| Water is the source of life, the basic natural resources, is the main material basis of all biological life-sustaining activities; it is also a strategic socio-economic resource and the lifeblood of national economy. Water resource is of great significance to the maintenance of the regional ecological environment and promoting sustainable economic development.Wuhan city circle is at the stage of rapid development of urbanization. The various production sectors of the national economy and residents’domestic water consumption increased year by year. The tention between supply and demand of water resources and the water environmental pollution have become increasingly prominent. Whether socio-economy of Wuhan city circle can maintain sound and rapid development momentum, water resources will play a key role. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of the current state of water resources carrying capacity of the Wuhan city circle has a positive and important practical significance.With the idea of sustainable development, based on the composite system collaborative learning point of view, this study established a composite system of social, economic, ecological and water for four sub-systems of regional water resources carrying capacity. Frequency statistics and theoretical analysis methods selected indicators of social, economic, ecological and water resources in composite system evaluation to build a comprehensive evaluation index system and water resources carrying capacity evaluation model of Wuhan city circle. Based on the sample of9cities of Administrative Regions in Wuhan City Circle in2010, we calculate the index of comprehensive evaluation of water resources carrying capacity of the Wuhan city circle, combined with geographic information system software ArcGIS9.3graphical spatial analysis in order to show the carrying capacity and characteristics of water resources carrying capacity of Wuhan city circleStudies have shown that: Comprehensive evaluation index (CW) of water resources carrying capacity of Wuhan city circle is generally low. The CW of Xiantao, Tianmen, Xianning is below0.4, indicating that the parts of regional water resources carrying capacity surplus belongs to the water-rich areas; the CW of Huangshi, Xiaogan, Huanggang, Ezhou, Qianjiang ranges from0.4-0.8, indicating that these parts of water resources carrying suitable belong to the utilization of water resources coordination area; the CW of Wuhan is0.912, close to1, which means that the strained water resources in Wuhan City belong to the brink of overload region.According to the water resources carrying capacity evaluation index calculation, this paper proposes a solution of improving the water resources carrying capacities of Wuhan city circle, including:(1) Construct water-saving society, and foster awareness of water conservation;(2) Strengthen water pollution prevention and protection.(3) Optimize the industrial structure and reduce water consumption;(4) Strengthen the integrated management of water resources. |
