Water resources and water environment carrying capacity is an important sustainable measure of socio-economic development.With the rapid socio-economic development and continued population growth in Wuhan and to ensure the continued healthy and stable development of Wuhan City,water and environment safety is becoming increasingly important.Water and environment capacity is a manifestation of the idea of sustainable development,sustainable development of Wuhan is inseparable supported by water resources and water environment.This study summarizes the methods of previous studies in terms of water resources and water environment carrying capacity,and select the appropriate method and reference materials suitable for China,s national conditions.Water resources and environment carrying capacity of Wuhan is the object,it ’ s carried out research and analysis.Aiming to understand the situation Carrying Capacity of water resources and water environment in Wuhan,and whether it meets the social and economic development.This study on the carrying capacity of water resources and water environment in Wuhan City is based on access to a number of existing literature data and combined factors of Wuhan real social and economic fields,selecting the appropriate measure to establish a comprehensive index system.This paper studies the water resources carrying capacity by using analysis method of water resources utilization,the water carrying capacity of the environment is partly based on water environmental carrying capacity index and analysis methods for comparison of the actual value of the water environmental capacity.The study found,2009-2013 annual average total water resources in Wuhan is 45.8 million m3,and 2009-2013 average annual rainfall is 1207.94mm,equivalent to the total amount of rainfall for 10.277 billion m3.Because Wuhan is located Yangtze River and Hanjiang River,transit water resources is rich,average annual total water resources for transit 6689.9m3,Yangtze River and Hanjiang River provides more than 95%of cross-border water resources.In the 2014 water environment statistics,the main river water quality in Wuhan reachedⅢ class standard is the Yangtze River,Wu Feng(Castle Harbor),and pour Jinshuihe,accounted for 37.9%,Ⅳ class 10.4%.Focus on the city’s 89 lakes monitored remove undeveloped lakes,in carrying out the monitoring of the 87 lakes,water quality standards Ⅱ class is 3,accounting for 3.4%;IE class standards is 44,accounting for 50.6%;Ⅲ class standards is 22,accounting for 25.3%;15 lakes water quality worse than V category,accounting for 17.3%.Utilization of water resources in Wuhan is 0.35,showed a larger carrying space of water resources in Wuhan.However,this is included in the case of cross-border water resources come,if not included in the cross-border water resources,the actual production is very limited,basically reached the bearing cap,per capita water resources is already at a very low level,it’ s an adverse impact on the development of Wuhan.Carrying capacity of water resources and environment in Wuhan has basically reached the upper limit,COD environmental carrying capacity of approximately 166,070 tons/year,ammonia environmental carrying capacity of approximately 15,000 tons/year.In Wuhan,a large number of emissions of pollutants in waters,the total emission of 139,800 tons of chemical oxygen demand,total ammonia emissions of 16,800 tons.Comparing the two,Wuhan COD emissions environmental carrying capacity has reached 84%,and there are environmental capacity of 22,400 tons;12%ammonia is overloaded,no environmental capacity.This study is established on the basis of the actual statistics in Wuhan City,research methods used is the discipline recognized methods,the results have certain reference significance and practical application.With the rapid development of Wuhan’s economy,population growth,water resources and environment carrying pressure will increase in Wuhan.Therefore,we must take effective measures to increase the carrying capacity of water resources in Wuhan environment.Combined with the actual situation and characteristics in Wuhan,that can be taken to improve water reuse,water conservation,reducing water waste;adjust the structure of water,reduce industrial water,reduce water consumption;strengthen regulation of sewage treatment and the introduction of mandatory regulations to reduce the emission of pollutants,reduce water pollution and other measures,environmental carrying capacity of water resources in Wuhan City,there is still room for improvement.
