Nowadays, iron shoes are widely used as anti-slip devices in railroad transportation and production. In China, iron shoes are the first-chosen devices in dynamic anti-slip process. Made of iron and shaped like shoes, iron shoes are installed on rails. When rolling wheels crush on them, the wheels will slide along the rail, rolling friction is turned into stronger sliding friction, and accordingly, the whole train will be slowed down and finally stopped.Iron shoes are small and easy to install. They are efficient for anti-slip and are very cheap. They are now the fundanmental devices in dynamic anti-slip process in all the main lines, branches, dedicated lines and freight lines of railroads in China. If there are5752stations along one railway and every fifth class intermediate station is equipped with8pairs (4groups) of iron shoes, the number of iron shoes of the whole railway will be enormous. As widely used as they are, traditional iron shoes are installed and removed far from duty offices and it is done all by hands. Therefore, it is hard to monitor and manage them from duty offices.Zigbee technology is based on the IEEE802.15.4standard, a short distance, low complexity, low power, low data rate, low-cost two-way wireless communications technology, primarily for the field of automatic control and remote control can be embedded in the kinds of devices, while supporting geolocation and recognition, can better resist a variety of industrial field electromagnetic interference.In this paper, the basic principles of Zigbee technology, Zigbee technology for the application of the research is proposed based on Zigbee technology of radio frequency identification and wireless communications technology ideas, and around the iron shoes of a new generation of intelligent design theory, mechanical construction, respectively based on Zigbee technology smart shoes in sensing devices, radio frequency identification and wireless communication technology has been studied. Finally, the study of the iron shoes management system design and operational framework, combined with the results of several experimental test site, the intelligent management of iron shoes and the practical application of the system were analyzed.In the last article, combined with the railroad over the years due to anti-slip accident statistics generated, further clarified the application of new railway intelligent Zigbee technology the potential economic benefits of iron shoes, and social values.
