The Application On Virtual Space In Jiangnan Traditional Folk Houses’ Interior

Virtual space has played an important role of interior design in traditional folk houses in regions south of Yangtze-river. It divides the larger space into different smaller pieces based on their functions. The smaller spaces achieve the different functional demands. This can be regarded as the re-division, redefinition and reorganization of the chamber spaces. According to the difference political, economy, cultural backgrounds, virtual space is endowed with specific functional value, instrumental value, social value and symbolic significance.By taking the interior design as the object of research, this article deals with the relationship between virtual space and the structure of traditional folk houses in regions south of Yangtze-river. The purpose is to reveal the function that virtual space playing in reorganizing the spaces of the chamber environment. The article reviews a wide range of professional literatures, journals, websites in both domestic and foreign areas, same as using related theories and research methods such as comparative analysis method, inductive method, investigative study method and verification method. Through the survey the author found that visual space has the characteristics described that balanced and natural interior pattern, profuse and varied interior layout, beautiful and quietly elegant interior colors. Visual space has some impact to the family values and furniture on display of traditional residential. The techniques building the virtual space were described as building up a vivid and interior kaleidoscopic in view of means of several distinctions that the random height of the ceiling and suspended decorations, rugged floor surface, the combination of different materials and pieces of furniture, the contrast of colors and areas of illustration. Moreover, division of inner space can be effected by the most common major practices such as flexibly varied screen, various forms of cover, colored decorations, exquisitely carved antique shelves, etc. The virtual space based on the environmental psychology is a reflection of environmental psychology in the design of interior space. The visual space means an essential prerequisite that people’s psychological demands shall be appeased by means of building a Personal, privacy, and regional space. The interior Virtual space represents the theory that mankind is an essential part of natural world. Similarly social hierarchy has the same level concept of ritual and the cultural connotations of the spatial order. Finally the author completed the useful exploration of the interior design for the virtual space on the basis of research of several classic cases.
