Modern machinerys and equipments have a high integration degree with machinery and electro-hydraulic. The leakage and wear of hydraulic reciprocating seals are the main reasons for hydraulic equipment’s ineffective and inefficient. But the study of hydraulic reciprocating seals in our country was late and had a lower level. The application of hydraulic reciprocating seals in engineering mechanical lags behind the international advanced level of about two to three decades.In this paper, the efficiency-reinforcement principle and failure mechanism of hydraulic reciprocating sealing are explored, the problems of hydraulic reciprocating seals in friction, wear, structural are analysed, and the reliability and validity S-Field model of the hydraulic reciprocating sealingare established. Study on the efficiency-reinforcement techniques of the hydraulic reciprocating sealing is developed as following:(1) The paper reviewed the international research developments of the hydraulic reciprocating sealing technology, functional analysis, TRIZ, finite element analysis and the Materlab technology, proposed the problems and trends of the hydraulic reciprocating sealing technology.(2) The product design process framework based on functional analysis is constructed, which takes the analysis of the product system’s objects-attributes-functionality and S-Field analysis as a basic methods, takes the S-field model transformation and the standard solution as a basic tools for problem-solving.(3)The efficiency-reinforcement principle and failure mechanism of hydraulic reciprocating sealing are explored. Its reliability and validity S-Field analysis model are established, and the corresponding solutions are proposed. The structural design of reciprocating seals are carried out according to the solution.(4) The finite element analysis model of new hydraulic reciprocating seal is constructed to evaluate its seal performances.(5) The mathematical model of the flexible hydraulic reciprocating dynamic sealing is established,which is used to calculate the leakage,friction,film,thickness and lubrication state of the new hydraulic reciprocating seal, with mathematical computing software MatLab,and in order to determine the reliability and validity of the new seal.
