With the car ownship increasing year by year the car collision occurred in traffic accidents are also increasing, so the social property losses and casualties caused by the increasingly serious. Compared to the previous several years the last two years has improved, but the vehicle safety research is also the focus of the world auto industry. There are many forms of car crash, in which the greatest harm is the head-on collision and followed is by a side impact. The head-on collision has been studied long time, however, the side impact research has been done by the industry in recent years, compared with developed countries in Europe and the United States our country is further behind in this regard, China began to implement the relevant laws and regulations for side impact in July2006,the car side impact study needed further efforts.By referencing the large number of documents, this paper details the improvement situations of traffic accidents at domestic and abroad, and summarized the side impact and future development trends at home and abroad, so established the object of this paper. This article is up at the virtual test side impact safety, so a brief described the theoretical basis of vehicle side crash simulation analysis, and then combined with the regulatory requirements to establish a mobile barrier model and verify it, while modified and simplified a domestic sedan vehicle CAD model,and then set up the finite element model of the body o-f this paper. Finally the established the side impact model and then simulated and analyzed in LS-DYNA. According to the analysis of simulation results for the deficiencies of the B-pillar of the body side crashworthiness, this paper presents two improvement program:one is to change the thickness of the B-pillar; the other is to change the B-pillar material. This paper also simulated the Improvement program model, and compared the calculation results with the original model of multi-security impact factors one by one, finally got one of the most effective improvement program significantly reduced the B-pillar side impact the Y direction invasive and improve the crashworthiness of side impact. The collision model of this paper has a certain reference value for the auto companies side impact simulation and analysis, and has some of the inadequacies also need further refinement.
