As a burgeoning and environmental way of electricity generation, the fuel cells is of great significance in alleviating the energy crisis. The reliability and safety of the fuel cell stack need be guaranteed by the high performance control system, but due to the difficulties in fuel cell modeling, it is full of rub for the development of a perfect control strategy. So, in this paper, the fuel cell hardware-in-the-loop(HIL) simulation platform has been built based on MATLAB, and it can improve the fuel cell system modeling quality, shorten the development cycle and save the research cost.The paper outlines the background and research significance to the subject, and discusses the latest research situation in the domestic and abroad of the HIL simulation and fuel cell modeling.The paper also introduces the characteristics and the subsystems of the work situation of the fuel cell from the perspective of the work principle and system structure. According to the fuel cell system working principle and the structure characteristics, the dynamic model of the fuel cell voltage model and fuel cell subsystem (air supply system, hydrogen supply system, cooling system) based on MATLAB is established by the method of the mechanism model and experience model.This paper uses the CSerialPort serial interface programming tools to achieve the serial communication between the controller and the host computer, and put forward the solution about the interface between MATLAB model and the external, RTW/Real-Time Windows Target.The fuel cell HIL simulation system is constructed based on the Real-Time Windows Target of the real-time kernel environment.The paper compares the real fuel cell test results and the simulation results of the hardware-in-the-loop simulation system under the different working conditions, the simulation results show that the fuel cell HIL simulation platform will not be affected by the hardware equipment and environmental factors.At the same time,the platform can simulate under the limiting conditions, shorten the development cycle and save research cost of the fuel cell controller.
