With the improvement of science and technology, and the changes of people’s life idea, unprecedented opportunities and challenges are brought for the development of the auto industry. A considerable number of users have no longer satisfied with the power and carrying capacity or overload ability of truck. Put forward higher request to vehicle’s driving smoothness and driver’s comfort. Therefore, auto companies pay more and more attention to research for vehicle noise and vibration.A truck is taken as research object in this paper. The following research work for the strong vibration phenomenon of the truck’s cab at the special speed is achieved by finite element method.(1) The impacts of load factors and structure factors to truck’s vibration characteristics are analyzed.(2) The finite element model of truck frame and whole truck are established by finite element analysis software ANSYS, and made free modal analysis for the finite element model of the truck frame, and made constraint modal analysis for the finite element model of the whole truck. The natural vibration characteristic of the truck is got by the modal analysis, namely modal frequencies and modal shapes.(3) The harmonic response analysis of the excitation of engine unbalance and wheel unbalance are achieved for the finite element model of whole truck. Bending case and torsional case are analyzed for the wheel unbalance. According to the harmonic response analysis results of the cab’s support-position, the main reason for the strong vibration phenomenon of the truck’s cab is the wheel unbalance at the speed of40-50km/h.(4) According to adjust the stiffness and damping parameters of the suspension, the impacts of the stiffness and damping parameters of the suspension for the curves of the truck’s vibration characteristic is got by the harmonic response analysis.(5) The parameters of the suspension are optimized by the method of orthogonal test design, and the optimal combination of the stiffness and damping parameters of the suspension is got by the simulation calculate, and the vibration characteristic of the truck is optimized.
