Space syntax theory to focus first on the city as a material object, by investigating the urban form itself to find economic and social process. It stressed that the space of the material, the independent regularity and initiative, puts forward the space not only as a human activities and the background of the object, or human activities the inner attributes of a space geometry. Space also no longer lacerate each other, but make a kind of all the space layout, the relationship between the space namely model or space configuration. This theory for urban design especially the shape of urban space provided a new theory base.This article first from the concept of space syntax, and discusses the theoretical foundation of the space syntax and the content of the space syntax analysis, and then introduced the research progress of the space syntax, make the reader understand fundamentally the research objects of main body. Study the axis of the space syntax analysis method, the convex shape space method, depending on the area analysis three main methods of analysis and understanding of the level of integration, sexual, depth data, control of the four main technology parameters of university campus environment and the effective combination of the analysis, this paper discusses the development of space syntax and to domestic and international advanced theory and application in space syntax open and closed this two kinds of university campus typical case analysis.Based on the cognitive image and the method of combining the space syntax of several different types of university campus construction space research than analysis. Through the questionnaire, draw the cognition map method, the space syntax analysis software evaluate each of the campus space prudent sex and integrated degree, each space syntax structure and function of land use structure of interaction between the relationship, quantification, empirical analysis of the campus environment. Using qualitative and quantitative analysis of the space syntax means, with a new perspective of the campus morphological structure and evaluation in the campus space layout and function of the relationship between the distribution, and space layout and the relationship between the use of environmental behaviors.
