This thesis studies the tobacco automated picking machine, which is the corecomponent in cigarette sorting device. Due to the post-marketing monopoly and the hugeconsumption of cigarettes in China, Therefore, it is the key to develop an availableChinese tobacco sorting machines towards overcoming the obstacles of tobacco logisticdevelopment.Cigarettes enjoy distinctive features different from other sorting targets. The paperstarted from analyzing the cigarettes sorting features, comparing the present tabaccosorting mechanism. As the current body of tobacco sorting operation is not in strictaccordance with the gear mechanism design,it was only to swing follower flap in turndriven by the next turn and only to transit by simple arc for the cam profile (i.e., the gapon each wheel curve). So the working process faced great impact, which gave rise tocigarettes unpackaged problems sharing the common defects of inadaptation to cigarettessorting operation. This thesis works on the process of tobacco falling, separation andreposition through theoretical modeling and simulation analysis, which draws out thatthe cam contour modeling line is the main affecting factor of tobacco sorting operation.Then,the objects models were analyzed; the cam-link combination mechanism wassimulated in terms of its displacement, speed, acceleration and angular displacementwith its curves drawn; a series of statistics was observed directly; and the mechanismwas simulated dynamically: all above provide a theoretical basis for horizontal tobaccosorting machine. It is in the paper that a spline was designed according to the analysis oftobacco sorting mechanism. This spline can be used as a cam contour to design andmanufacture cam for the sake of compensating its weakness of shaking, impacting andnoising, promoting the success rate of tobacco sorting operation. Horizontal tobaccosorting machine was a core part of cam link combination machinism. In accordance withthe change of machnisim parametres, the simulation results were modified in terms oftheory and practice. Cam link combination sorting machnism achived the goal realizingthe leap of tobacco automated sorting technology.
