Development And Application Study Of Two-color Infrared Thermometer And Multichannel Thermocouple Acquisition System

Most machinery parts are manufactured by cutting in modern machine building industry. Only little heat produced by cutting dissipated into the environment, the rest heat is all conducted into cutting tool, chip and workpiece. Temperature rise in cutting tool, workpiece and machine tool would speed up the wear of cutting tool, cause thermal deformation of workpiece and even cause thermal deformation of machine tool. Therefore it is very important to measure and control the cutting temperature for cutting theory research, machinability test of cutting tool and workpiece materials.Temperature is an important parameter to character the state of an object. In general, there are two common methods to measure temperature. The target of this paper is to develop a two-color infrared thermometer and a multichannel thermocouple acquisition system. The design and calibration of the thermometer, as well as the acquisition system are presented in this dissertation. The temperature-voltage ratio curve is obtained, and the multichannel thermocouple acquisition system is mainly made up of an AD card, several thermocouples and a VB program. The multichannel thermocouple acquisition system is applied into a practical metal cutting experiment, which shows the system has a good application result.Infrared thermometry, especially the two-color infrared thermometer, is safe, reliable, contactless, fast, convenient and has a long lifetime, therefore it is of very great importance to make a further investment of two-color infrared thermometer. The multichannel thermocouple acquisition system can measure the cutting temperature of the workpiece continuously at different points, and save the cutting data into the computer. It is of great application value in industry.
