Power cables is widely used in electric power plant, transformer station and mining enterprises equipped with large electrical power. Realization of the cable safety and stable operation has vital significance to ensure the safety and economic of enterprise. Cable mid-connection and pressure connector position will be easy to cause temperature rising, insulating layer burning through, and then fire accident in cable trench. It happened in condition of the high voltage and heavy current, due to environment and manufacture technique. The on-line condition monitoring for cable operation is an important measure to prevent and eliminate fire accident.This paper introduces an on-line monitoring system which is based on the running status of M-BUS BUS cable tunnel, with the cable ripple running states of steel power supply enterprise as its background, This system is primarily consist of M-BUS temperature sensor module, the data acquisition module, the background monitoring system. This article focuses on the design of temperature sensor module and backstage monitoring system. The temperature sensor module consists of MSP430F122microprocessor, digital sensor DS18B20and TSS721instrument bus chip. The characteristics of its system hardware are simple structure, reliable and anti-interference, easy to install and practical etc. The monitoring system software uses the Delphi7.0programming of windows and the method of visual programming method. The software is feasible. With graphic and windows to deal with mass of actual data as its interface, show the temperature status of every process in time, and to inform the abnormal problem.View of the actual operation, the cable tunnel operation condition monitoring system is stable and reliable, strong real-time. It realizes the function of information collection, storage and preliminary analysis. It can also monitor the working condition of cable equipment effectively, eliminate a hidden danger of fire, and prevent the accidents. It has special meaning for the electric power enterprise and electricity enterprise to reduce or eliminate fire accident caused by cable, avoid the economic loss and create economic benefits.
