Study On The Cultural Landscape Of University Campus

Since ancient times, university campuses are aggregation of culture, undertaking the mission of cultural inheritance. Because of the special culturally, university campuses become people’s bright yearning. With the development of society, constructions of university campuses have been developed rapidly. However, criticisms of "one side thousand cities" and "one side thousand campuses" come out. Because of this, people start to pay attention to campus culture and campus landscape, seek for their common point, and pay close attention to campus cultural landscape. Based on this, the author chooses the research in this area as the content of the thesis.Through collecting and collating a large number of literatures, the author brings forward the concept of "Cultural Landscape of University Campus", and builds the landscapes system, including the landscape elements and types. Taking the university campuses in Nanjing for example, through scientific quantitative analysis on the landscape, and with the theoretical data, also with scientistic landscape evaluation, the author raises the problem and flaw in "Cultural Landscape of University Campus" in Nanjing, as well as the relevant solutions. The details are as follows:Part1:Exordium. The author points out the background of the research, purpose and significance of the thesis, as well as methods and content.Part2:Development of landscape in university campuses, including China and foreign countries.Part3:Concept Introduction. Through the analysis of culture, landscape, cultural landscape and campus culture, the author generalizes the concept of "Cultural Landscape of University Campus", as well as its function.Part4:Landscape Elements of Cultural Landscape of University Campus:buildings, water landscape, plants, campus sculpture, scene stone, pavement and campus parergon.Part5:Landscape Types of Cultural Landscape of University Campus. In the thesis, the author summarizes6types:historic landscape, memorial landscape, mark landscape, education landscape, artistic landscape and scene landscape. Through examples of China and foreign countries, the author also states their cultural connotations. Part6:It includes2parts:survey and the comprehensive evaluation of "Cultural Landscape of University Campus" in Nanjing. One part:with the scientific investigation of13universities,19campuses in Nanjing, the author quantifies the status of landscape types of cultural landscape of university campus; the other part:Using AHP with fuzzy synthesis evaluation to assess cultural landscape of university campus in Nanjing. From six aspects of historic landscape, memorial landscape, mark landscape, educational landscape, artistic landscape and scene landscape, this paper formulates comprehensive index system of cultural landscape of university campus in Nanjing quality and sets up the model of AHP with fuzzy synthesis evaluation on cultural landscape of university campus. Then it gives comprehensive evaluation indexes of19university campus in Nanjing. Finally, the auther points out main problems, and then brings forward the development countermeasures.
