Nanjing Urban Park Green Space Flower Border Community Research And Comprehensive Evalution Analysis

With the development of society, rhythm of our life speeds up day by day. Strong pressure causes urban citizens desire for returning to nature. Flower border, as a new plant configuration model in urban green space, has great advantages in species variety, color amenity, space richness, seasonal changes, and management conveniences, compared with the traditional forms of plant landscape such as flower bed, flower clumps. It meets the needs of people’s desiring for nature and eco-city. Today the flower border has attracted great concerns and wide utilizations in China. The thesis took a symmetrical study in the flower borders of green space in Nanjing city, and the key elements and the main conclusions are as follows:(1) Through the summation of the concepts of flower border and China’s culture, this thesis defined the connotation of flower border, gave a detailed illustration of the classification and the application of flower border at home and abroad, as well as the research process of flower border planning and design., the relationship between flower border and Chinese traditional cultural, and preview the future of flower border in China.(2) Thirty five flower borders in8park of Nanjing were investigated, the result shows: the flower borders(FB) could be classified to6types:entrance FB, road FB, building FB, water FB, forest FB and main viewing site FB. There are301species, belonging to90families and203genus, including141flower species,27ornamental grasses,74shrub species,44arbor species,5vine and10aquatic plants. Flower borders have some seasonal changes by fixed position investigation in spring and autumn.(3) The quantitative analysis of plant community structure and phenology of flower border in Nanjing urban park green space. The paper analyzed flower border from species composition, community appearance, community structure t and so on. It shows that flower border in Nanjing urban park green space has a positive effect on urban landscape, except for some shortages.(4) AHP with fuzzy synthesis evaluation was applied to assess flower border in Nanjing urban park green space. From four aspects of ecology, landscape, subjective perception and applicability, this paper formulates a comprehensive index system of flower border quality and sets up the model of AHP with fuzzy synthesis evaluation on urban flower border green space. Then it gives comprehensive evaluation indexes of35flower borders in Nanjing park green space. (5) According to analysis of plant community analysis and quality evaluation, Most of the application of flower border was just in its beginning stage in Nanjing, much more works should be made to improve the spatial pattern of flower border to construct a beautiful, ecological and economic urban green space. This paper gives several advices of in improving flower border in Nanjing urban park green space.
