Energy crisis,greenhouse effect and ecological enviroment go from bad to worse. It always reminds human being that the resources on the earth has been utterly exhausted. Thus it is urgent for human being to change means of utilizing energies and improve their comprehensive utilization rate. The wind energy with its significant advantages, such as clean, renewable and profuse quantity etc, becomes the research focus in many countries. The wind generator has developed rapidly in this boom. Recently though many researchers focused on the horizontal axis wind-driven generator, there are less researches on the vertical axis wind-driven generator with large and medium power. With the increasing of single wind-driven generator power and complicacy of its mechanical features, its wind vibration characteristics is becoming more complex. Therefore, the design and optimization of the vertical axis wind-driven generator structure is also becoming particularly important. The paper mainly focuses on the researches of H-type vertical axis wind-driven generator and vibration characteristics, structure design and optimization problems of its key part. Main contents of the paper are as follows:(1) Analyses main parameters of structure design for50kw H-type vertical axis wind-driven generator. The necessity to research wind vibration characteristics of its key components—spindle, blade arm and the blades is presented. The application of the finite element analysis method is put forward.(2) Analyses the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle of the wind generators. The PROE model and finite element model of the spindle is set up. Strength and rigidity of the spindle are checked. The spindle’s dangerous section are determined. Analyses the varying rule of natural frequency under different spindle speed, The possibility of occuring resonance and the stability of the spindle are discussed.(3) Analyses the static and dynamic characteristic of wind generator blades arm, Strength and rigidity of the blades arm are checked, and the Strength and rigidity are inadequate. Analyses the wind vibration characteristics under the rated speed condition.The order of leaves arm vibration frequency is get, it is verify that the leaves arm won’t happen resonance through the comparison with the rated speed.(4) Design the wind-driven generator blades of H the vertical axis, analyses the vibration frequency of blade under considering the prestressed inertial force influence, dissects the resons of each order cloud pictures of the vertical axis wind-driven generator blades, the reference for other vertical axis wind machine design is provided.(5) According to the structure shortcomings of the H vertical axis wind-driven generator’s spindle and leaves, the paper puts forward the structure of adding the towline as its optimization scheme after the analysis the influence factors of a wind turbine wind vibration characteristics.For spindle and blade arm,analyses the varying rule of natural frequency, structural deformation and stress diagram under the different towline added position and different towline initial stress, the optimum adding position and initial stress of spindle and blade arm’s towline are determined by comparing respectively,at last the design requirements of a wind turbine is satisfied.
