The remote control system of engine is a necessary part of automation of cabin, which is the key to realize UMS and a important device in field of marine. It can not only improve the working situation of sailor and maneuvering performance but also the safety of ship and the economy and reliability of main engine. However, the advanced technology of remote control, especially remote control of low velocity main engine is controlled by konsberg、NABCO、SAM and so on. We must research and development the remote control of main engine by ourselves, only this can improve our level of shipbuilding and reduce the gap between our nation and aboard.To be accompanied by the technology of computer networks and distributed computer, the distributed control system based on field bus is come out. The FCS system usually is consisted by PLC and screen. The PLC is lower computer which make production automation, and touch screen is upper computer which is used to process and monitor working condition of PLC. The distributed remote control system of low speed main engine based on PLC has broad application prospect in the market as its advantage of high reliability、strong expansibility、short development cycle and so on.In this paper, here are the aspects of the work:1Design the distributed structure of main engine, and each part communicate with the field bus of CS31. The redundancy of system is designed by module of CI590-HA-CS31, the communication of PLC and touching screen is come out by Ethernet.2Design the main function of remote control of main engine, it including the function of transformation of control places、logic control、the control of speed and load、safety&alarm and so on.3Design the governor system, which choose AC servo motor as electric actuator. The speed setting signal came from PLC was sent to driver after been scaled. By reduction gear, servo motor change its rate into displacement in order to control the throttle lever of main engine.4the design of reliability, including anti-interference、the power of reliability、 Hot Standby and so on.5Analysis the features of ship、main engine and propeller, researching their coordination in condition of transient operation so as to guide reversing of ship. On the base of analysis of Robinson chart, we could compute the propeller torque, we can Compare it with the engine’s reversing start torque in order to leading ship to reverse.
