With the development of shipbuilding technology and remote control technology, controllable pitch propeller (CPP) propulsion equipment has been widely applied. Since the phenomenon that we haven't paid enough attention to the CPP propulsion equipment and its control system during the current teaching period of marine engineering subject, it has caused the engineers who are lack of training cannot operate and maintain the CPP propulsion equipment and the control system correctly, furthermore, it will increase the failure rate of vessel and affect the vessel security. Therefore, it is necessary for engineers to accept relevant training. Currently, only the Kongsberg and other foreign companies developed with CPP's marine products, because of its high price, that related product penetration rate is very low. Therefore, the development of CPP main engine remote control system is urgent and essential in order to learn and train for engineers.This DMS-2010 CPP main engine remote control system is an important part of the Dalian Maritime University's Full Mission Engine Room Simulator, and it is designed based on "YU KUN" vessel main propulsion equipment. The system is designed with modular thought, and each function module is independent of each other, interact with data interface, and set a certain amount of input and output interface to accommodate the needs of the extension. The functionality includes with main engine start, stop, speed and pitch tuning, load control, safety protection and so on. Designing four control modes and appropriate control curve for speed and pitch control. Setting up control object mathematical model of the MAN B&W 6S35MC main engine and VBS980 OD330 CPP, and using MATLAB/SIMULINK software simulate dynamically models, in order to get data of simulator and satisfy accuracy requirement of simulator. To illustrate in detail on achievement thought, assembly and distribution, communication mechanism that the DMS-2010 CPP main engine remote control system is applied to actual simulator project, and design and develop of this system software using the C# language in the.NET Framework Developer Platform. The software achieves system's logic and model calculations, as well as failure settings and data interaction with other engine room systems.This DMS-2010 CPP main engine remote control system meets the STCW78/95 convention and the MSA's requirements of the marine simulator assessment. It is used to study and train for marine engineering students, and is to the benefit for improve the overall quality and international competitiveness of our country's crews.
