| Nowadays, with the rapid development of Chinese railway construction, the technology, design level, and construction capacity of railway have improved a lot. On the other hand, due to the development of economy, the Urbanization Process is accelerating. Cities vary from their developing models, fractal features of urban morphology to their transportation and their population activities etc. The relationship between cities and their railway stations is also ever-changing. For High-Speed Railway Stations, the station square, as a key transitional zone, has been greatly impacted on, which makes squares where conflicts are easiest to happen. As a new thing, the high-speed railway station has not gone through the test of time and of course, has a lot of shortcomings. Therefore, the study on the development of high-speed railway stations is forward-looking and of great significance.As annexes, stations do not develop autonomously, but are promoted by the needs and changes stimulated by external factors. This dissertation not only reviews the problems in the development of traditional railway stations, but also it summarizes the relevant factors affecting the development of traditional railway stations. In the meantime, it also includes studies on the development of high-speed railway stations aboard. By comparing the domestic and foreign railway stations, some enlightenment about the development of Chinese high-speech railway stations are put forward:Five factors contribute to the development of high-speed railway station square. They are "The development of rail transport operation mode; The change of model of railway station; The development of traffic transfer; The change of passenger flow; The development mode of High-Speed Rail New District." The studies on the cases of domestic high-speed railway stations indicate that railway stations are characterized by "attaching importance to the transportable liquidity; developing urban space and the relatively larger square space".
