High-voltage capacitance-type equipment is an important part of power system.Their operation is directly related to grid security, stability and economic operation.For a long time,China’s adherence to the regular power system equipment insulation preventive test.For a long time,China’s adherence to the regular insulation preventive test of power system equipments,effectively reducing the frequency of occurrence of electrical equipment accidents.But, with the continuous development of power technology,this off-line detection method has been increasingly failing to industry needs. The on-line detecting method,which timely and accurate monitoring of capacitive equipment insulation defects, has a strong theoretical and practical value.In this paper, several major capacitive equipments have been introducted,and their structural characteristics and common type of faults have been analysised.For the problems of the existing capacitive device insulation testing method in terms of sensitivity, stability and interference, a new on-line detecting method is proposed for testing capacitive devices insulation defects.This method used the transient voltage and current of the capacitive devices as source(sources of information),constructed insulation defect detection and discriminant function of diagnose,generated Surface charts of the discriminant function.According to the maximum value of the discriminant function,we can diagnosis the different locations and varying degrees of insulation defects of the capacity type equipment.A large number of simulation results confirm the effectiveness and feasibility of the method.Experimental verification based on the practical110kV transformer oil-paper insulation bushing is done for the proposed detection method. The result preliminarily confirms the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.In this paper,the capacitive device insulation defects monitoring method helps to the safe and stable operation of the electrical equipments.
