At present, with the develop of China’s rapid economic oil and gas resources has becomeincreasingly urgent demand. Pipeline as an important way of oil and gas transport has manyadvantages. However, due to various natural or man-made causes, pipeline leak accidentshave occurred, as well may be accompanied by a huge loss of life and serious environmentalpollution. This paper research on finite element analysis of pipeline leak under variousconditions and negative pressure wave data, determine the leak location of pipeline. thespecific work as follows:First,domestic and international pipeline leak location methods of negative pressurewave are reviewed in this paper.In-depth study of the universal application of negativepressure wave.Second, based on the characteristics of this paper to determine the two-dimensional pipeflow model, use the finite element software FLUENT analysis the leak pipeline model and getnegative pressure wave data under various conditions.Third, in order to simulate the actual operation pipeline, negative pressure wave data is toadd noise and eliminate noise. Then study leak detection and location of gas and liquidspipelines. To improve the traditional formula of leak location, improve the location accuracyby considering the fluid velocity.Fourth, in order to show data visualization, develop a MATLAB graphical user interfaceprogram.
