The Researh On The Lanscape Of Urban Public Space On The Old-Town Renewal Of Datong Shanxi

Datong is an important energy industrial based in North China, and it has been famous as one of China’s twenty-four historic and cultural city. According to the ancient records, since it carried out the restoration project of ancient city in Datong in2008, it has maintained and rebuilt the scope of historical sites within the old city. Moreover, the reconstruction and restoration of the ruins of Ming-Qing Wall has conducted. In the year of2012, the protection work has preliminary result the city was achieved with the primary image. This subject is aimed at discussing how to recognize the landscape of urban public space in the background of updating the ancient city in Datong, and how to update and display the charm of the city and other related issues. To question about some strategies pertaining to landscape design of public space which is based on the practical case study of urban public space landscape in Datong ancient city’s renovation, to give some contributions in Datong’s updating working Program.Under the background of the ancient city’s update, it analyses the evolution of history, the happened problems and the changes of the city structure. It analyses the different types of urban public space landscape, and explains the connection between the update of the ancient city and the urban public space landscape, the necessity of the urban public space landscape reformation, and the significance of urban public space landscape on the ancient city’s update.It also analyses the importance and application of history culture and region character in the process of design. What’s more,it refers to the principles,aims and strategies of public space landscape and wholly explains the design.This article analyses the different types of landscape, such as the street, plaza and park in Datong, takes a fact finding of the east wall belt park and gives a questionnaire survey by the way of POE evaluation and Likert-type scale. After investigation, it gives some advices for park improvement. Here is the advice:In the aspect of planning and design, it focuses on the traffic design, The application of the city’s history, cultures and region characters, and choice of the landscape scale. In the aspect of plant landscape, a good lawn means a rich landscape of plant which are grown in four seasons.It should have a proper corporation between different types of trees based on site conditions and design ideas.Focus on the survey for users. It researches the usage of the newly built and built landscape of urban public space, and the feeling of the users, finally it formulates the quality evaluation standard of the public space landscape. It applies for the right investigation method to support the construction of the city.
