Research On The Renovation Design Of Public Space Under The Background Of The Revival Of The Old City

With the ongoing development of urbanization in China,the question of how to improve the quality of urbanization and embark on a people-oriented method for construction becomes the core concern for the government and the academic circle.Physical form construction has always been the emphasis in Chinese city development.However,the most fundamental needs of the people are ignored.Nowadays,the old town in Qinzhou,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is confronted with a series of problems like environment degradation,insufficient public facilities and infrastructure,traffic jam and endangered cultural inheritance.The resident's demand for convenience,integrity and comfort can't be satisfied.Thus,the reconstruction plan for the old town in Qinzhou is extremely urgent.This article selects the public space in Renmin Road,Qinzhou as the object of study.Upholding the people-oriented urbanization concept and treating the inheritance of historic and cultural of Qinzhou and the revitalization of the old urban as the goal,it conducts field investigation to get hold of the status of the old urban and summarize the opinions and needs of residents there.Afterwards,it proposes relative and practical design strategy and plan for practice.This article is divided into five sections:The first section introduces the research background,purpose and meaning and relative concepts.Besides,it specifies the research method and technical route and propose the innovative point of the research.The second section analyzes and study the literature and design cases home and aboard.Then,it would summarize the trend and experience of public space renewal in old urban.They would provide valuable reference for the reconstruction of public space in old urban in Qinzhou.The third section focuses on the status quo of the old urban.By on-field investigation,it would conclude the form and existing problems and their reasons of public space in the old urban.Moreover,the necessity of the revitalization of public space in the old urban would be proposed.The fourth section would propose the designing principle,goal,and strategy for the reconstruction.Those ideas would be facilitated in Renmin Road,Qinzhou,including street space,node space,square space and other space.The last part would have a summary of the research result and state the main discussion point of the research.It is expected to provide reference for the reconstruction of public space in old town of other cities.
