In the early1960s, the two-way curved arch bridge was created by the workers of Jiangsu Wuxi County, which is a new form of bridge. As China’s unique of nation tinge and characteristic of bridge, there are many advantages, such as novel structure, saving in material, low cost, convenient construction. In early stage it played a large role in the bridge construction. Because of the rapid development of economic construction, traffic increase, a lot of the overload vehicles appearance and outside of various factors, which are accelerating the two-way curved arch bridge damage. A lot of dangerous old two-way curved arch bridges are constantly emerged all over the country. In order to make these two-way curved arch bridges continue to play a role, so need to research its reinforce.In view of the problem, this article does some researches and conclusions:1. Introducing the structure form of the two-way curved arch bridge, based on a large number of relevant literature and combined with field investigation, the common disease characteristics of the two-way curved arch bridge were concluded, causation of damage was analyzed, also the common methods of strengthening the two-way arch bridge were introduced;2. Summarizing the two-way curved arch bridge with the finite element method, and describes the modeling method of two-way curved arch bridge;3. Discussing the two-way curved arch bridge reinforcement of basic principles, sticking steel reinforcement of the characteristics and conditions of use, as well as the principles and methods of calculation of flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete;4. In Yangjiagou large span two-way curved arch bridge as the research background, set up the bridge before and after strengthening the finite element model, and analyzed the different height of the reinforcement method of steel box arch of the bridge before and after strengthening the internal force influence, under the same load, by use of15cm high steel box arch reinforcement of the bridge, compared with the reinforcement before, the stress of the structure is significantly reduced, while the vertical displacement of the structure is greatly reduced, but with the increase of height of steel box arch, arch section stress reduction is not obvious, while the bridge structure stiffness has no obvious improvement;5. Through the calculation of the structural dynamic characteristics, obtained vertical free vibration frequency is strengthened significantly improved by15cm high steel box arch, but the steel box arch height increases did not significantly improve the structure of the vertical natural frequency;6. On the actual bridge strengthened by the field static load test, evaluation and analysis of reinforcement effect, experimental results show that the displacement and stress of the structure verifying coefficient0.6-1.0in between, can meet the requirements of specification; at the same time measurement residual deformation value (SP) and measured the total deformation (St) the maximum ratio of0.14check regulations, with α≤0.2provisions. The test results show that, the bridge structure in bridge under static load deformation and strain characteristics of normal, bridge structural stress of the whole performance to meet the elementary requirements of highway grade Ⅱ load. So with15cm height of the steel box arch bridge reinforcement which is feasible.The topic what this paper selects directly based on exigency problem, close relates to current objection of the highway transport system—safety, boundary and celerity, increasing the bearing capacity of bridge, have a better volatilization. Although many researches have been already conducted to the reinforcement of the two-way curved arch bridge, but till now there also isn’t a system and comprehensive summary about the reinforcement of the large span two-way curved arch bridge. Through discussing the reinforcement of the large span two-way curved arch bridge by this paper, it can provide some extent instruction and reference to the similar bridge on reinforcement.
