With the development of the market economy in China, electricity marketanalysis is increasingly important for the management and development of the electricpower enterprise. Accurate electric load characteristics analysis and load forecastinghas become an important part of production management and program managementwork of electric power enterprise and a very important aspect for guiding the work ofbusiness plan. The purpose and significance of the study of load characteristicsthrough further analysis of the regional load characteristics, is to find out the status ofload characteristics of the region, and to grasp the variation of load characteristics anddevelopment trends, then to implement effective regulation and the control of powerload. Power load forecasting is the foundation of the power grid planning andconstruction. As the power industry plays an increasingly important role in thenational economy, the correct prediction of the power load is particularly important.Whether the Power load forecasting results is accurate or not is directly related to theeffectiveness of the power investment, reliability of supply, the normal developmentof the electricity demand, as well as social economic benefits and social benefits. Inrecent years, Economic and social situation of the Pearl River Delta region haschanged dramatically, thus the power load also has a great deal of change. In thispaper, combined with the actual situation of Qingxi Town of Pearl River Delta region, research and analysis on the load characteristics of Qingxi Town was accomplished. Amethod of an effective short term load forecasting was presented to be a basis for therelevant departments to predict.
