The power supplies, as the essential components of the normal operation of various electronic devices, widely affect the normal use of the equipments. Especially in some places where we need power supplies which should have the relatively high quality, we should ensure that they have both sufficiently high stability and high accuracy. The linear regulated DC power supply is the ideal power for people to do electronic experiments because of its excellent characteristic of small ripple, which happens easily in many research institutes. The subject of the design is based on the problems in usual uses of the linear regulated DC power supply. In our usual study and work, a problem that there was a big difference between the data we set and the output when we use a domestic linear power supply happened, besides, the control system of the linear power supply sometimes stopped working suddenly, all of which lead to the damage of the circuit to some extent.To solve the problem, we decide to modify and design it. The design includes the study and analysis of the different modules of the linear regulated DC power supply and focuses on redesigning the control system and doing the simulation analysis of analog circuit on the basis of referring to Agilent E3631power supply.Firstly, the design gives the overall control system of the linear power supply which uses the ARM+CPLD mode. Then the design introduces the design of different parts of the master control system in detail. The master control system including the display module and the keyboard input module is designed with the ARM controller LPC2138and the data calibration analysis is given. The design provides the hardware and software of the master control system under the premise of trying to save the I/O port resources of the controller. Then the A/D converter circuit using8-channel,12-bit plus sign converter—AD7328and the D/A converter circuit selecting16-bit, serial input converter—AD1851are designed. In order to facilitate the connection of A/D. D/A and controller, a small programmable logic chip—CPLD is used as the center of the connection. The data is transferred through the SPI bus between CPLD and the ARM controller, making the A/D and D/A interfaces be unified on the SPI bus. Then the design gives the analysis of each interface and the corresponding hardware description language and verifies them though simulation waveforms.At last. The design describes the principle of the linear regulated DC power supply and gives the analysis of different parts of analog circuit. then focuses on describing in detail the module of voltage regulator which is called series feedback and adjustable voltage regulator1. The regulator circuit is the key of the power supply. So the design gives the analysis and research of the regulator circuit referring to Agilent E3631power supply and provides the simulation.
