| With the rapid development of society and the acceleration of urbanization, there is an increasing demand for engineering machinery product. Through the decade’s development, homogenization, because of its technique transparency, is likely to be the trend of the engineering machinery product. Therefore, quality is no longer the only factor determining the product’s prospects. In such cases, the form design turns out to be the new source of company’s competitiveness. Generally speaking, form design should embody the reasonability of the product function, the technology advance and the aesthetics of the times. However, we are not optimistic about our form design for engineering machinery product because, for years, our blind imitation of the West’s product and lack of theoretical basis. Given such situation, it is an immediate task for us to promote the innovation in form design.This dissertation takes product semantics as its theoretical foundation, product form and product semantics as its starting point to illustrate the elements in the form design of engineering machinery product, which include:basic form, line, color, texture, shape semantics, color semantics as well as texture semantics, etc. Then we will conclude the design method of engineering machinery product from the following aspects:product function, ergonomics principles, form aesthetic principle, color aesthetic principle, texture principle, etc. At last, with the support of the practical cases, all the design methods in this dissertation will be applied to test its feasibility.The innovation of this dissertation lies in that:from the theoretical aspect, the author makes a comprehensive analysis of form semantics of engineering machinery product and applies product semantics to its research by making case studies of certain products. This brand-new perspective may provide theoretical guidance for the further design; In terms of practice, by employing product form and product semantics in the design of engineering machinery product, we construct a systematic model of engineering machinery form design. This can be used in the design of the engineering machinery company and can provide a system of effective methods. |
