With the continuous development of the hydroelectric project in our country, many dams have been developed, most of them have good conditions while there are no more dam site have such good condition. Dam sites selected in nowadays would face complex foundation, high slope excavation and support and other problems. Meanwhile, as the improvement of the design level and the dam construction technique, more and more arch dam constituted by RCC have reach a height of150m. So, it was expected that dam design engineers should not only have abundant engineering experience, but also should have comprehensive grasp and application of new computational analysis methods and construction technology, only in this way the design of engineering programs can be reliable, rational and economic.According to the RCC dam technology development level both at home and abroad, this paper is mainly focus on the Dragon Hydropower station in Hubei Enshi. The general hinges layouts of the arch dam for hydropower station were researched in this paper. At first, by the comparison of the three-centered circular, the five-centered circular and the parabolic scheme, the effective parabolic dam type of dam site was selected. Then, through the multi arch beam method, the stress, the displacement and the sliding stability of dam abutment of various load combinations under different working conditions were calculated. Moreover, the double arch RCC dam was studied overall and the safe, reliable, economic and reasonable design scheme was proposed finally. Furthermore, the three-dimensional integrated model of the arch dam and the foundation was established by finite element method to simulate the partition of different rock and the actual terrain of the valley on both up and low, check the stress and displacement of the arch dam in a variety of load combinations of different conditions.The Dragon Hydropower was a high RCC arch dam built in the narrow and steep valley, of which the abutment excavation was the cave excavation and a few rocks around the abutment have unloading crack along the river. In the central of the left abutment, S-type fold belt was existed, which made the excavation difficult and complex. In addition to the conventional stress analysis, there was also a elasticity modulus sensitivity analysis of the bedrock material and the dissection fracture material in this paper. Meanwhile, through the sensitivity analysis of the dam foundation rock, the typical working conditions were selected to research the influence law of the dam foundation rock foundation rock to the working behavior of the arch dam, to explore the sensitivity of the stress and deformation of the dam and its foundation to the rock of dam foundation and fault, mezzanine, unloading crack and other elastic modulus and relevant conclusions were obtained.
