China is an earthquake-prone country, because of the bitter lesson brought by Wenchuan earthquake and Yushu earthquake, we need to slove seismic undefended in rural house as soon as possible. Rowlock cavity wall is a one of the most traditional Wall in our country, which has been largely used for the construction of Residential housing in the remote rural areas. But the integrity of the rowlock cavity wall is very poor, they have "Small earthquake havoc" in the earthquake, so they can not satisfiy the requirement for seismic resistance. In order to enhance the seismic performance of rural buildings, improve the ability of rural earthquake disaster prevention and safeguard the people’s lives and property, there is very meaningful to study the seismic performance of the Rowlock cavity wall and find out a cost effective reinforcement method.The paper further study the seismic performance of the high-performance ferrocement (HPFL) strip reinforcement M5mortar strength Rowlock cavity wall base on my echelon’s result, it has complete the topic that the high-performance ferrocement reinforcement of rural residential space Bucket masonry.At present, there are a lot of rowlock cavity wall housing in the majority of our towns and villages, but we know little about the seismic performance of the rowlock cavity wall, therefore, to study the seismic performance of such walls is of great significance to rural residential construction on the earthquake disaster prevention of our country.Based on the experimental study of6unreinforced rowlock cavity walls and5rowlock cavity walls reinforced by HPFL subjected to horizontal low cyclic loading, this paper analyzed the three modes of brickworks of rowlock cavity wall, with the influence of two kinds of vertical stress. At the same time, the paper comparative analyzed rowlock cavity wall that before and after reinforced. The study consists of failure process and patterns of walls and basic seismic behavior indexes such as the capability of seismic shear, the hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, the stiffness and stiffness degradation, the ductility and deformability. Results from experiments showed that the seismic behavior of rowlock cavity wall is very poor, since its seismic shear strength is low, its stiffness degenerates quickly, its energy dissipation ability is weak and it has very brittle fracture characteristics. Rowlock cavity wall reinforced by the HPFL, its crack load and ultimate load increase obviously. initial stiffness improve, ductility ratio raise, the relative deformation enhance, the seismic performance was more excellent than the specimens without reinforcement under the same conditions.The paper reviewed the test result base on the Rowlock cavity wall’s shear strength empirical formula derived by my echelon, the result is good. Depending on the test results, the paper proposed a shear strength empirical formula which is suitable for high-performance ferrocement reinforcement rowlock cavity wall. This empirical formula is reference use to reinforcement design in the actual project.
