Traditional wobbling piston-type air compressor is used widely due to its simple structure, convenient for using and maintain. However, the drawback for larger size, higher noise of the whole machine and shorter lifetime of seal ring are common to the current model. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a new swing-rod restrained piston compressor. The swing-rod mechanism based on the traditional wobbling piston model is increased to make the piston do reciprocating motion in the cylinder according to almost in the way of linear movement, so that the degree of the piston and seal ring reverse striking to the cylinder is reduced, side-pressure of cylinder is lowered and the purpose of weakening noise of compressor and prolonging service life of seal ring is reached.The main work of this paper is summarized as follows:1) The design idea of swing-rod restrained type piston compressor is proposed; the mathematical model of new-type compressor is established; geometric parameters are setting, and then thermodynamics, kinematics and dynamics are analyzed, theoretical results are gotten, theoretical basis for the swing-rod restrained type piston compressor design is provided.2) The three-dimensional model of swing-rod restrained piston type compressor is built with the aid of PRO/E, and its model is imported into ADAMS, the rigid body dynamics model and flexible body dynamics model of the compressor are set up. The kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis on compressor model is implemented. Compare with traditional model, the superiority of new type compressor is verified from the two aspects of connecting rod angle and cylinder side-pressure.3) The statics simulation analysis of swing-rod restrained type piston compressor’s finite element model is accomplished by using ANSYS Workbench. As a result, the stress and strain nephogram of swing-rod, drive-rod and connecting-rod piston group are received, and the basis of further designing and making physical prototype is achieved.4) Performance test of swing-rod restrained type piston compressor is carried out. Compare with the test data of traditional type, decreasing compressor noise and extending seal ring lifetime for the new type compressor are proved from the experimental view, and the expectant objection is reached.
