In order to meet the miniaturization, low power, low cost and increasingly high precisionrequirements of Strapdown navigation system, the Strapdown Navigation Computer designbased on DSP and FPGA is researched in this paper.Firstly, this paper brings forward Integrated Navigation Computer scheme based on DSPand FPGA according to application requirement. In this scheme, DSP is used to be a processor.And the I/O interface function is realized by FPGA that performs the IMU signal acquisitionand buffering data, also expanding UART. DSP interfaces to FPGA by DSP’s EMIF. followingthis scheme design the schematic of the hardware system. Secondly, the detailed designsincluding ADC sampling controller, FIFO and UART. Each interface is verified by timingsimulation. All the hardware circuits in this paper are described by Verilog HDL. Secondly,elaborated on the use of TI’s DSP Integrated Development Environment and DSP/BIOSreal-time operating system software development of mufti-task specific programs. In thispaper, the introduction of DSP/BIOS real-time operating system to provide mufti-taskingmechanism to deal with the acquisition of three relatively independent functional tasks thatthe DSP/BIOS scheduling, in accordance with user-specified priority to run, greatly improvethe system efficiency. Then introduce the way of the DSP chip Bootloader. Finally, theNavigation Computer System is debugged together with all the module, also the system istested in detail. The Navigation Computer System is established.The effeiciency and speed of the system is enhanced by the scheme in which high speedand float DSP is a processor and FPGA realizes interface unit so that DSP can be devoted innavigation algorithm. The module described by Verilog can be as IP core which has theadvantages of reuse, modified and upgraded conviently.Otherwise, High speed ADC samplingcontroller with FIFO is very fast.Hardware realized by FPGA is convient and can be easily upgraded because Verilogdesign can be resued and FPGA is programmable.
