With a variety of modern technology products to make a significantcontribution in improving the quality of human life, people put forward higherrequirements to the use of the performance of products. Nowadays, the drumwashing machine improved the washing environment and had gradually became themainstream of the home washing machine, but its larger vibration in high spindrying had also became a prominent problem of the drum washing machine. Theserious vibration will not only engender a greater noise disturbing people’s normallife and the environment quality of man-machine, but also can make the wholewashing machine move sometimes and affect its service life. The study of reducingthe vibration and noise of the drum washing machine is the key issue today’swashing machine industry to face.This paper investigated the dynamic performance of the cabinet andsuspension system of the drum washing machine through the finite element analysisand virtual prototype simulation method, then the cabinet structure and the keystructural parameters of suspension system were improved and optimized. First,using the Lagrange equation built the dynamic response equation of the six degreesof freedom suspension system in the condition of dehydration, and obtained thevibration trajectory curve of the cylinder by numerical simulation method, this jobprovided a theoretical basis for latter virtual prototype simulation analysis.Secondly, it obtained the natural frequencies and modal shapes of the cabinetthrough the finite element modal analysis, which reveal weak positions of thecabinet. Then, based on virtual prototyping technology, established therigid-flexible virtual prototype model of the drum washing machine, and studied itsdynamic performance in the condition of dehydration. Finally, this paper optimizedthe key structural parameters of the suspension system according to the results ofthe study. Contrast to the former, the vibration of the optimized washing machinehas been effectively improved.
