After the “5.12” Wenchuan Earthquake,Structural designers has increased emphasis on the“earthquake” was more than seismic fortification level. Whether it is “Earthquake”or“GreatEarthquake” the main earthquake disaster is the collapse of the building. According to China’scurrent seismic fortification level,could achieve “No Collapsing With Strong Earthquake”,toavoid the structural collapse caused heavy casualties, could radically reduce earthquake losses.The collapse of the building wasn’t only the component’s problem of insufficient strengthand ductility,but the lack of structural system to resist deformation caused by collapse. this paperdescribes that add redundant oblique rod to the building structure increasing the structuralintegrity and seismic reserve capacity,improve the seismic capacity of the second line ofdefense,thus improving the ability of anti-collapse of structural system under mega earthquake.With the premise of cost savings didn’t increase strength of each component, added redundantoblique rod to resist lateral deformation,attain the purpose of reducing the maximum relativedisplacement of the weak layer of the building structure, avoiding the weak layer had sufferedthe role of more than in the fortification level earthquake,then relative displacement is too largeto collapsed,to protect people’s lives and property.Building structure has added redundant oblique rod,in order to get elastic-plastic response ofrare earthquake that creat a single-particle structure system to add redundant oblique rod,then dononlinear time history analysis under the rare earthquake.Research redundant oblique rod play arole of different conditions and oblique rod stiffness range.Analysis results show that:Forfundamental period T=0.6s and T=0.8s of the building structure add redundant oblique rod,theearlier play a role of oblique rod,the greater stiffness of oblique rod is,the bettter effect oflimiting the maximum relative displacement is. Fundamental period T=1.0s of single-particlestructure system to add redundant oblique rod,additional oblique rod less effective,and theselection of u、 n to be very cautious.(1) The buliding structure’s basic cycle has known, solving the initial effective stiffness ofSingle-particle system.(2) Single-particle structure system has did nonlinear time history analysis under the rareearthquake using the finite element analysis software.(3) Single-particle structure system has added redundant oblique rod,then did nonlinear timehistory analysis under the rare earthquake using the finite element analysis software,researchingthe changes of the maximum relative displacement of the particle of Elastic-plastic dynamicresponse,analysis of restriction of maximum relative displacement of the weak layer.(4) Research redundant oblique rod play a role of different conditions and oblique rodstiffness range.
