The vehicle body is one important part of the bus. As one part of automobile assembly,it withstands any kinds of loads from the road and all other complex load role. The vehiclebody is used as the carrier of many car assembly parts, so it plays an important role in thewhole bus system, the strength and stuffiness of which have a direct impact on the life andsafety. At the same time, the loads on the vehicle are dynamic loads when the car is moving.Doing modal analysis, discussing the natural frequencies and the corresponding vibrationmode can provide the basis for the design and other dynamic analysis, by which we canimprove vehicle manipulation stability, security and driving comfortability.Under the call of energy conservation and emission reduction, many cities havereformed many buses to CNG car in our country. The CA6100URN51bus is a top-mountedCNG bus. In this paper,we use ANSYS software established the finite element model ofCA6100URN51bus body according to the actual results of the Survey and Mapping,and alsocalculate the stress and deformation in the three different situations—bending, twisted,bending and twisting combination.According to the results and suggestions, we make anestimate of the vehicle intensity and rigidity. On this basis, we extract the vibration frequenciesand form of the vehicle body by doing the bus body modal analysis, and then discuss how thevehicle body’s inherent vibration Characteristics affects the safety and comfortability.
