Oil reserves and extraction is very limited in china, as the car is becomingincreasingly popular, the oil is more and more dependent on imports. Theautomobile brought great pressure to China’s energy. China’s energy problem hasbecome a strategic issue in the process of national economic development. Inaccordance with the traditional transportation and energy systems develop, it willbe difficult to maintain the growing development and prosperity of our car country.Faced with such a severe energy situation, the new energy environment-friendlyvehicles, pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and fuel cell vehicles in China’s R&D efforts are being strengthened.As the main components of the electric car, the frame body is the supportingpart of the whole car,whose mechanical performance is particularly important,good mechanical characteristics is an important guarantee of vehicle performanceand driving safety. The traditional design methods rely on the experience ofdesigners and build on existing design case, leading to the structure design of thebody waste material and difficult to achieve the performance requirements, whichis difficult to achieve optimal design.The conceptual design of car body is made under the premise of meeting theinstallation requirements and design requirements, then finite element method isput on the conceptual design to analyse static and dynamic mechanicalperformance.whose result is to be dependent on to identify the weak andredundancy parts and make improvements correspondingly. These are veryimportant to ensure mechanical properties of the body and material savings. Finally,the body topology optimization is used to explore the optimal distribution ofstructural materials.It is in accordance with the above design method, to explore the design、analysis and improvement process of an electric car body.First, on the basis of the overall design of electric vehicles, in accordance withthe experience and the installation requirements, preliminary concept body designis made. then stress and deformation of the conditions of torsion and bending isworked out. based on results of the analysis to improve the structure and then to validate whether the improved structure is to meet performance under theconditions of torsion and bending.Then modal analysis is puted on the improved structure to obtain the modalfrequencies and mode shapes, which is used to explore the chance ofresonance.after meeting the modal requirements, Then transient analysis processbegins, when the left front wheel of electric car crossed an parabola road, thestress&time history response curves of dangerous parts of the body is to begained.which is to verify the dynamic mechanical properties of the body.Topology is used to explore optimization of structure and materialsdistribution of the car body under the premise of ensuring the mechanicalproperties. Whose result is relied on to optimize body, compared to originalstructure, the optimized body must be analysed to verify optimization reasonable.After the above process, the ultimate optimal structure of the body comes out.
