The vehicle body is one important part of the bus. As one part of automobile assembly, it withstands any kinds of loads from the road and other complex load role. The vehicle body is used as the carrier in many car assembly parts, so it plays an influential role in the whole bus system, the strength and stiffness of which have a direct impact on the life and safety. At the same time, the loads on the vehicle are dynamic loads when the car is moving. Doing modal analysis, discussing the natural frequencies and the corresponding vibration mode can provide the basis for the design, by which we can improve vehicle manipulation stability, security and driving comfortability. Most cars use half load-body frames, which have many complex components. In this paper, we use ANSYS software established the finite element model of a semi-load bus body according to the actual results of the Survey and Mapping, and also calculate the stress and deformation in the four different situations ----empty, half load, partial load and full load. According to the results and suggestions, we propose a improvement of the body program. On this basis, we extract the form and vibration frequencies of the vehicle body by doing the bus body modal analysis. At last, we discuss how the vehicle body's inherent vibration Characteristics affects the safety and comfortability by using the final results.
