The arch bridge is one of the oldest Chinese bridges. In recent years, due to theemergence and application of new materials and rapid improving of the constructiontechnology, this new type of concrete filled steel tube arch bridge which has adventage on itslarge span, low cost and safety construction has been widely used in the construction ofhighway and city bridge, and also becomes a strong contender to the other long-spanbridges.But because of the lack of related codes about design and construction, although manyscholars did a lot of research, there are still a lot of problems, the technology is not verymature Adding to the diversification of forms, long-span, softy and different naturalconditions of the bridge site, so we should study the key issues about design and constructionaccording to each condition.Which used in the paper is the designing bridge-JinZhong bridge in JingNing town. It’s ahalf-through CFST arch bridge with thrust, and the main span is240m. As its large span andnarrow deck, the overall stability problem is particularly outstanding, and is the key problemin the bridge design. So the author established multiple finite element models to analyze theeffect of the tilt angle of tib, and the different position and plane direction on the stability ofarch whole bridge. It shows that it’s much safer when the lateral brace is been verticallylayout. And the lateral brace beyond the arch ribs is more important. And the tilt angle of ribis also reasonable.According to the《Highway bridge seismic design rules》, the span of JinZhong bridge isbeyond the value of150m.The Bridge Category is A, and need to undertake aseismatic design.With the analysis of the different seismic waves and models by using response spectrummethod and time interval analysis method, we can reach the conclusion that the travelingwave effect influence response spectrum method is not accurate, the geological conditionshave great influence to the results and the small change of the constructional element maycause the change of earthquake resistant behaviour. The incentive action of three of thedirection will affect different internal force. The response feature of the structure is showed inthe calculated chart.At last, this paper also summarizes the construction methods of this kind of bridge, and based on the same type bridge mature construction project, design a construction projectaccording to the geological conditions of JinZhong bridge,and reach a safe and reasonableconstruction.The paper has guiding significance for the next stage design and construction.
