As a new type of light steel housing system, the cold-formed steel compositewall has many advantages, such as the high degree industrialization, constructiondesign cycle is short, the seismic performance is good, environmental protectionand energy saving. In our country, promote the application of this housing system,fully comply with the country’s industrial policy, and will be have a broadapplication prospect. But this kind of housing system at present in China is still inthe initial stage, lack of systematic research, especially the corresponding designstandards and technical specifications are not perfect. Therefore, the Shearresistance analysis of composite wall has important theoretical significance andapplication value.This paper analyzes the skin effect of the Cold-formed steel composite walland the wall’s characteristics in horizontal load stress,then further analyzes theeffect factors of the skin effect, destroy factors of the wall, the destroy forms, andthe measures of avoiding the wall destruction, the analysis provides certainreference value for composite wall design.The shear resistance of cold-formed steel stud wall under monotonic load isanalyzed by finite element simulation in this paper. The analysis models,including wall with single-gypsum, or wall with single oriented strand boardsheathing,and wall with gypsum sheathing on the back and oriented strand boardon the face. The finite element analysis results are close to that of tests andtheoretical calculations, so the finite element analysis method is correct. On thisbasis, There are followed by a detailed parametric study using finite elementanalysis. The results of finite element analysis show that Skin plate and openingsinfluences the shear resistance of wall Significant. With the decrease of columnspacing,screws spacing,the wall’s load capacity increases obviously. Increase thepillar and wall panel thickness or exerting the vertical load, the wall’s loadcapacity also increase.
